People for many reasons are affected by anxiety for a couple ‘panic attacks’ or for years. Those who experience anxiety attacks realize why they come and what situations may trigger an attack. Some of the symptoms associated are shortness of breath, stomach aches, headaches, nausea, fatigue and chest pains. Personally each person will have one or more of these reactions with or without a feeling of fear, angst when having a ‘panic attack’ commonly associated with anxiety.

Mainly the challenge with Anxiety is the emotional causes and effects. In this workshop we will work through awareness that when anxiety rises or you feel a panic attack coming on who to use your body and mind to reduce or stop the attacks.

Deep Slow Breathing

We explore how deep breaths and slowing down your breath help to calm and give you a feeling of control. Learn how what to do when you hyper ventilate and how breathing deep keeps the mind from going to fear mode.

Movement/Exercises

Our body holds onto anxiety and has long term effect on our muscles, joints, and organs. We will learn how to move the body on a regular basis through yoga to expel the effect these generally.

Meditation

Meditating for a minute to 20 minutes regularly is known to help your anxiety immensely. When our minds are thinking fast, have many unnecessary thoughts or go in circles pondering the same thought(s) the body reacts, the breathing gets quicker and the anxiety may worsen. This long term stress and angst, takes a toll.

We will learn how to meditate and which meditation is best to help you slow your mind, help clear your thought, and help you control how you think. Several types of meditation will be offered for you to feel which is best at one time; a combination may work best also.

Breathing, Yoga and Meditation is known to help ease Anxiety; over time is found to lessen your anxiety and may even help by lessening your panic attacks

Open to 10 participants of all ages

Enroll

Chronic pain is commonly known as “pain that extends beyond the expected period of healing.” It’s almost as if the body is continuously on high, there is no low setting enabling the body and mind rest or peace from your pain caused by an injury or illness. Drugs/medicines are helpful though many pharmaceuticals simply tell the brain there is no more pain. These drugs may help in the short term but often not long term (some with unwanted side effects).

While this workshop is not about getting off your medicines, it is about managing the chronic pain in a different manner that may lead to less dependency on drugs or the need to increase dosages.

Continual pain in a holistic sense is when the body stores the energy created by pain in the body, giving it nowhere to release, to move out of the body. In this workshop we will explore meditation and movements for more mobility, and managing your breath to help.

Meditation

Some believe that meditation may cause acute awareness of the pain, causing even more distress and discomfort in aiding solutions to their pain. In this workshop we will discover a balance between awareness and calming the mind and body by easing the direct effects of this pain through meditation. We will learn a meditation technique in where we concentrate our mind away from the pain, in which we can learn to direct the pain outwards of the body. Pain is energy and when we learn to move energy through our body and outwards, we help not store up this energy, hence lessening chronic pain.

Breathing

Controlling our breath through pain is often not thought about when we hurt. Often when we hurt or are in emotional pain, we stop or hold our breath. This momentarily helps, but the pain is just felt again when we breathe again. Learn various breathing techniques to help ease your pain and lengthen your life.

Movement

Gaining back mobility lost from chronic pain is important if we want to remain healthy. Learn small to large movements specific for your body in this workshop, to regain or maintain your mobility, flexibility and strength.
