Create balance & healing through your own Yoga Practice.

In this retreat we explore the freedom to develop and deepen a yoga practice that is intuitive, to free the self, to relearn what you need for your peace, body and spirit.

All too often we are told when, what, where and why to eat, sleep, play / not to play, how you feel / not to feel, to grow up; basically how to lead your life. This begins at an early age in (pre-school/daycares) kindergarten when we’re told when snack is, where to site and to be still. We lose our own sense of who we are, what our own needs are.

Through developing your Personal Yoga Practice your inner voice, feelings, mindfulness come alive. Humans are born aware , meditative and intuitive, as we grow we are talked and told out of what precious beings we began as.

Engage your intuition, uncover your creativity and re-establish your confidence through the sequencing yogasana – postures, healing asanas, pranayama – breathing energy, sadhna – meditation, yoga nada (sound) and mindfulness – releasing who you are.

Come explore through this amazing yoga retreat where you may find your true self through developing your Personal Yoga Practice.

This retreat is open to beginners and experienced and the playful.

25 September 2010 – 9:00 – 12:30
Slough, Berkshire

Register

People for many reasons are affected by anxiety for a couple ‘panic attacks’ or for years. Those who experience anxiety attacks realize why they come and what situations may trigger an attack. Some of the symptoms associated are shortness of breath, stomach aches, headaches, nausea, fatigue and chest pains. Personally each person will have one or more of these reactions with or without a feeling of fear, angst when having a ‘panic attack’ commonly associated with anxiety.

Mainly the challenge with Anxiety is the emotional causes and effects. In this workshop we will work through awareness that when anxiety rises or you feel a panic attack coming on who to use your body and mind to reduce or stop the attacks.

Deep Slow Breathing

We explore how deep breaths and slowing down your breath help to calm and give you a feeling of control. Learn how what to do when you hyper ventilate and how breathing deep keeps the mind from going to fear mode.

Movement/Exercises

Our body holds onto anxiety and has long term effect on our muscles, joints, and organs. We will learn how to move the body on a regular basis through yoga to expel the effect these generally.

Meditation

Meditating for a minute to 20 minutes regularly is known to help your anxiety immensely. When our minds are thinking fast, have many unnecessary thoughts or go in circles pondering the same thought(s) the body reacts, the breathing gets quicker and the anxiety may worsen. This long term stress and angst, takes a toll.

We will learn how to meditate and which meditation is best to help you slow your mind, help clear your thought, and help you control how you think. Several types of meditation will be offered for you to feel which is best at one time; a combination may work best also.

Breathing, Yoga and Meditation is known to help ease Anxiety; over time is found to lessen your anxiety and may even help by lessening your panic attacks

Her approach is mischievous, encouraging individual body shapes, abilities, and mindsets to simply be. Cilica challenges each participant to see themselves anew, while conscious that each is already perfect.

Cilica’s recent yoga studies took her to Aranmula, Kerala in Southern India for 4 months in 2007, where she increased her knowledge of Classical Yoga, received daily instruction in Kathakali, Carnatic Chants and Song, Ayurveda Medicine and Southern Indian Cooking and Culture.

While this workshop is not about getting off your medicine directly it is about managing your Asthma in a different manner that may lead to less dependency on drugs and inhalers or the need to increase dosages.

Asthma is the restriction of breathing to which the person is unable to gain proper breath and my lead to fainting, anxiety attack, or worse. Restrictions may be caused by underdeveloped lungs, diaphragm and organs, by pollution, and or viruses.

Breathing

In this workshop we will develop the breathing system to develop your lungs, passage ways and diaphragm through deep breathing and other breathing techniques. Creating a strong body will help when Asthma may come on or you get a full attack.

Calming and Movement

We will work on exercises to open the chest and ribcage, expand lung capacity and release the neck, shoulders from tension. As important as increasing the breath, creating space for the breath to move into in the body is important. Gentle and calming ways to move, stretch and strengthen the body will be taught.

25 September 2010 – 13-00-16:30
Slough, Berkshire

Open to 10 participants of all ages

Enroll

Chronic pain is commonly known as “pain that extends beyond the expected period of healing.” It’s almost as if the body is continuously on high, there is no low setting enabling the body and mind rest or peace from your pain caused by an injury or illness. Drugs/medicines are helpful though many pharmaceuticals simply tell the brain there is no more pain. These drugs may help in the short term but often not long term (some with unwanted side effects).

While this workshop is not about getting off your medicines, it is about managing the chronic pain in a different manner that may lead to less dependency on drugs or the need to increase dosages.

Continual pain in a holistic sense is when the body stores the energy created by pain in the body, giving it nowhere to release, to move out of the body. In this workshop we will explore meditation and movements for more mobility, and managing your breath to help.

Meditation

Some believe that meditation may cause acute awareness of the pain, causing even more distress and discomfort in aiding solutions to their pain. In this workshop we will discover a balance between awareness and calming the mind and body by easing the direct effects of this pain through meditation. We will learn a meditation technique in where we concentrate our mind away from the pain, in which we can learn to direct the pain outwards of the body. Pain is energy and when we learn to move energy through our body and outwards, we help not store up this energy, hence lessening chronic pain.

Breathing

Controlling our breath through pain is often not thought about when we hurt. Often when we hurt or are in emotional pain, we stop or hold our breath. This momentarily helps, but the pain is just felt again when we breathe again. Learn various breathing techniques to help ease your pain and lengthen your life.

Movement

Gaining back mobility lost from chronic pain is important if we want to remain healthy. Learn small to large movements specific for your body in this workshop, to regain or maintain your mobility, flexibility and strength.

Healing Yoga Insights Intensive

Six Day Yoga Training for Yoga Teachers and Enthusiasts

London UK, Oct 19-24 ~ St. John’s, NFL, Nov 23 – 28

presented by Six Senses Yoga

R E G I S T R A T I O N

Yoga by the mere practice is to balance and heal the body, mind and our spirits. In this 6 day intensive encapsulate the balance between a practice of yoga, with the intent to heal the body, yourself and your students. Tap into your own intuition to discern what and where you need to heal, bringing stillness to the moment; emotional and intellectual as well as spiritual connections with your inner balance.

Just as Patanjali says in his Yoga Sutra there are as many Asanas as there are living creatures on earth, so are there as many subtle differences, and layers, complexities to each person. Develop the integration between knowing yourself and knowing how your students can heal themselves through the mindfulness of Yoga; asana; classical and experimental with nidra, nada, vocal toning and more.

Through the Intensive learn, understand and feel how subtle adjustments and simple asanas to more complex asanas aid in healing and maintaining your own health and/or issues giving you personal insights as a teacher for your students either in class or one-to-one. Two days are spent on the spine exclusively as the spine affects the whole body, wellbeing, moods, and mobility: such as back and neck weakness, pain, disc alignment, posture, injury, and scoliosis.

During the Intensive learn how to use pranayama to ignite the healing mechanisms of the body/mind to elevate individual and common health issues as anxiety, asthma, low blood pressure, holding the jaw (tight muscle holding) to more complex issues as spinal challenges, chronic pain, and organ function. We also work on the importance of organ, joint and sciatica health through asana, pranayama and touch.

SSY’s Healing Insights Yoga Intensive integrates nature and the senses into each intensive enabling participants a richer, more enlightened yoga practice.

Open Hearts ~ Open Minds ~ Open Living

Certified Training Intensive including manual for each participant. When all aspects of the Intensive are completed, the participants earn 90 Yoga Hours.
